We booked a budget twin room for 1 night and found everything very convenient, with a seating area, ironing facilities, and a study table, and the service was absolutely excellent.

Friendly bar on the premesis, providing a warm welcome and good company. Near the railway station, where there were frequent trains into the City centre. Staff very pleasant. Simple and adaquate hotel as a base for accessing the City. Stayed four nights, and although fairly basic with shared bathroom was, as claimed, clean and was good value for money.
Very noisy on three out of four nights in the early hours of the morning - woken at 4am by stamping feet and slamming doors. The owners should really deal with such behaviour - they must have been aware of it if not totally deaf. Or maybe there were no staff present at night; I didn't see anyone to report to when I went out in the morning, and I returned fairly late at night. Nowhere to hang clothes in the room. Tv remote did not work.

The room was comfy and clean.
This b&b was advertised as having a car park which was the main reason we chose it. Upon arrival I was bluntly told "oh that needs to be changed on the website" and not given any advice as to what I could do with our car. The hallway smelt of smoke and there was a policeman there which was quite off putting.

The location is marvellous and handy, close enough to the outskirts of Liverpool, the city centre, and the Anfield Road Stadium. The rooms have a communal bathroom and three single beds, making it convenient for groups.

It was cheap
Difficult to find, no private parking (although website suggested otherwise), grim area, smelt of smoke,

The hotel was clean.
The outside of the building would not entice you inside. But it is very deceptive as once inside it is very clean.

The barmaid, Janet, was extremely helpful and friendly. She made us feel very welcome
The location and exterior were awful. When we entered there was a very unpleasant smell but this dissipated as we ascended. Too many stairs for me but my daughter was ok. The bathroom was clean but too far from our room.

The private bar inside was really friendly and all made us feel really at home.
When checking in we were greeted by a extremely rude Canadian lady who made the whole group feel unwelcome and most uncomfortable. We were told that the showering rooms were shared, which we didn't mind as they were clean but upon booking we asked and were informed they were ensuite! The check out time was stated as 12pm which we was later informed to be 10am! The group as a whole felt uncomfortable from the start and ruined the experience. Towels were charged at £1 per towel which was never stated at point of booking. One of the rooms had what looked like to be blood on the curtains and looked like they had not been cleaned for a while. On the plus side the bar was the highlight and would recommend to anyone staying to stop in for a drink.

The room was clean You get a key to let yourself back into the hotel at any point over 24 hours so you can come and go.
We couldn't access wireless internet, and were told it was because the wireless didn't have a large catchment. The room was very small. The area is really rough and the doors and windows are boarded up. The doorbell doesn't work: we were kept waiting for over half an hour and had to ring an external owner to ring the manager to get hold of her. Although the hotel advertises private parking, there is none and the streets are not such that you'd want to leave a car. The staff were friendly but unprofessional. It is a very long way out of town.
